I’d say in the order they came out. First is clearly best as far as a being a good flim.

Rocky 4 is amazing. Ivan Drago is a great character - Stallone was a very good writer and knew enough about the boxing game to make a pretty realistic series about it. The only negative is the actual boxing scenes which can be comical at times but not a big deal

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think Drago was the worst villain of the first 4 movies. The guy barely said anything. His manager and his wife were more the bad guys. Best villain was Clubber Lang even though 3 was a worse movie overall then 4. That is mainly cause Micky was not in 4. Apollo was a better bad guy also.

The first one is legitimately a great movie and one of a handful of films that prove that Stallone was a good actor when he was motivated. III was probably second best due to the overwhelming entertainment factor. II had some good ideas, but the ending basically robbed the power of the first film. V had powerful moments and was the only film to try and give Adrian some decent characterization, but Stallone just overacted far too much in that one. IV, while being ridiculously entertaining was basically Rocky: paint-by-numbers and is not a “good” film by any means. Rocky Balboa was good, maybe the 2nd best in the series, but it’s kind of cheating because it was a remake of the first one essentially. The first Creed was outstanding, but Creed II was total garbage, an utterly lazy film.

There are 6 original Rocky movies.
If people want to pretend the 5th one doesn’t exist then I’m fine with that but the 6th movie was a real return to form and IMO the best after the original.

So I reject your poll!

2 & 5 were one time watches for me, both terrible. Don’t know why 2 gets any love, boring as fuck

That’s how I’d go as well, with the weird caveat that I’ve actually never seen IV. That might shuffle the deck if I ever get around to it.
