Rogan Encourages Elite Fighters Outside of the UFC to Stop Wasting their Careers:

He isnt wrong though. As Strikeforce & Pride have proven. The UFC doesnt have all the best fighters in the world.

We’ve seen Pride & strikeforce fighters take over entire divisions in the UFC once they where bought.

MW, WW & LHW are open for the taking. Guys like Nemkov & Eblen can be champs in the UFC

Yeah being in the UFC gets the most exposure for sure but not necessarily the most money as proven by guys like OAM all the way to Francis.

Both examples proved that Outside the UFC may have been less exposure but it resulted in more money for those fighters.

Being the most Exposed also doesn’t mean you are the Best. Along with the examples you mentioned, the literal next sentences Joe Rogan and Bo Nickal said on the Podcast after saying the UFC is the Place to be… then both agreed the Bellator MW Champion Johnny Eblen is probably the Best MW in the World. So the UFC MW Champion is the most exposed but not even the Best in their minds.

Depends what you want, more Money or more Exposure.

U forget that chandler was a free agent earlier on and re-signed with bellator because they offered a better deal than UFC at the time

You can’t even monetize it anymore. New UFC contracts state the UFC are entitled to any business venture by any UFC fighter which is gross.

You guys wouldn’t know him but Google Patchy Mix. He is really really good and would be competitive at UFC

Yeah that’s not great and the contracts can be brutal but I get both sides.

It’s like you are taking a pay cut for the exposure if you sign with the UFC these days so you can make more money later after you leave the organization using the name they likely (not always) built up for you.

The UFC probably thinks the exposure is what allowed the a lot of the Fighters to make the money on their own later even though they don’t give the UFC anything back or credit for it. Not always the case but that is probably what they think.

Take someone like Paige Van Zant.

She didn’t make any good money when with the UFC but she got that big exposure. Then after that she could whore herself out to make the real good money later on her own without the UFC getting a dime. But she needed that exposure first and the UFC is probably trying to find ways to monetize their part in making someone rich off the name they pretty much built with their hype machine. Sometimes I post at work and go on so long I don’t even know what the Thread topic even was lol

Definitely. I almost mentioned him along with Eblen as examples of Bellator or Outside the UFC Champions who might be the favorite over the UFC Champs in their respective divisions. I can see that with Patchy, Eblen, and possibly Nemkov.

Joe Rogan, the renowned UFC commentator and podcast host, has recently made waves in the MMA community with his comments about fighters outside of the UFC. In a podcast episode, Rogan encouraged elite fighters outside of the promotion to stop wasting their careers and make the move to the UFC, where they could potentially reach their full potential and achieve greater recognition and financial rewards.

Just saw him fight live in August. Damn good fight. And he brought a fanbase with him from Canada down to NY. Got to talk with a couple of them. Damn nice people.

I don’t want Buffer anywhere near me since the time he told us to, “LEAVE THE GATS AT HOME, GUYS” outside the venue in Atlantic City.

Not to mention the suits that look like casino floors.

Yeah same with all other stuff ufc did to get fighters’ pay/money

Its opportunity! -Dick dana

I remember when this was said of the UFC. Been saying it for years that the UFC is the tab cola of mma that bought out pepsi and coke. It’s similar to budlight as well, watered down bullshit.

Shills gonna shill

Joe is right in a way. Aubin basically found a hack - a cheat code. But hats off to PFL, they found a way to make the most boring fighter in mens MMA, not that boring, and he got a great paycheque in the process.

The lesson to be learned is the UFC has to pony up more and incentivize fighters to be exciting/finish

The $50,000 bonus that’s been around for over a decade will do the trick. LOL.

OAM is like the 5% of people who get compensated more after leaving the UFC. If we were judging on a bell curve Rogan’s statement would fall in the middle.
