Agree that Fedor and Silva are arguably the two that should be considered the GOAT. GSP also.
Simply, I just see Fedor slightly ahead (personally) due to his ability to dominate in more areas, and he did not cut weight.
Silva was technically a freak though. No doubt.
Fedor IMO is a little ahead of Anderson and GSP because he was fighting at heavyweight and that is the hardest weight to go on the streak he did because all it takes is one punch to KO someone
I think GSP has to be in the mix purely because he essentially cleaned out the roster twice. To me the argument rests on the quality of the opposition. All three are worthy of the title, and we'll never agree.
Viagra Silva was special.

very true.
All three have a loss that was a big shock, but their dominance in their respective era's is a thing of beauty.
A pleasure to have experienced all of it. I think we will look back in years to come, and as Rogan says, unlikely to see such long reigns.
Jones/McGregor/Johnson are worth a mention. Great times to be an MMA fan in the last 10-20 years.
At some point he would have put Ronda in that discussion. Anyways, I completely disagree with Joe on this.
He's right..
I think so too, Joe.
Logically that should be Nick's next fight.
Fedor and Jones and GSP will always be even to me.
Jones could have surpassed them if he had stayed out of trouble.
Yep.

Well said. What is fun too is how different they were. GSP is the most orthodox of them all, getting better and better through sheer work ethic and intelligent grinding. Silva is the freak artist and Fedor is the Russian enigma LOL
And yeah, while I can't stand his narcissistic ego and vibe, JBJ is still in the mix for sure.
I still believe Sakuraba should be in the GoAT discussion. He was naturally a small middleweight or welterweight (he weighed in the mis-170s without cutting at the 2000 Pride GP), had one of the most spectacular runs of all time against people generally at lightheavyweight, and AFTER going 90 mins with Royce went 15 minutes to a draw with the best heavyweight in the world at the time in Igor.
His later years hurt his legacy, but again, he was someone who should have been a welterweight fighting people that were middleweights and a couple heavyweights.

Solid, he absolutely should be mentioned
