Think bodybuilding. There are clean leagues but no one gives a fuck. It's all about the Arnold and the Olympia. People want to see people perform on the highest level and if you separated the 2, you would see the difference
Well people claim they want to see a "clean" sport, clean inasmuch as an arbitrary list of banned chemicals dictates. But if you want top level performance and entertainment you can't have it both ways.
The thing that always gets me is when people claim it's for the safety of the fighters, or I guess athletes I should say these days. Yes. Bashing each others faces in is fine. Throw in some taboo chemicals and suddenly it's just too dangerous.
Speaking of, did anyone die or get seriously injured in pride where it was all allowed? I know Enson got roughed up pretty bad but that seems like it has less to do with roids and more to do with bad cornering/reffing.
