Despite her controversial win in Strikeforce and all the discussion, I saw very little discussion about the move that Rousey used to setup the submission. Here is my breakdown. Feel free to add technical points.
Here is the fight video:

At 1:10 in the video, Rousey has a (Russian) 2-on-1. Here are some points about it by the legendary Russian wrestler Ivan Yarigin, it was his favorite move:

This is actually a very technical move that is heavily used in wrestling and sambo and sometimes in Judo. The 2-on-1 is usually a BAD position to be in because there are many BAD things that can happen to you from that position:
1. You can DROP for a single leg (Bring the arm that is 2-on-1'd to the person's leg first).
2. You can use the 2-on-1'd arm to PUSH the OTHER person's arm up to setup the double leg takedown (by pushing their other arm up, they have no leg defense).
3. You can do a Fireman's carry as well (check out Cary Kolat's demo for a good one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDEplIPoZ2Q).
Back to the Ronda fight. Look how DEEP the 2-on-1 is at the 1:11 already, Sarah's arm is completely trapped. Its so deep, that Ronda can even use the other arm to grab her neck.
Now look carefully next. Sarah tries to PUSH the head away. The problem often here is that when you do that you set yourself up for point 2 above: it can setup a pretty easy double leg.
What Ronda did was after she had the 2 on 1, she kicked Sarah's leg backward, which means Sarah went forward to post the arm (and on her knees). The natural reaction then is to pull back up, which is what Sarah did. This is the moment, the reaction that Rousey used to attack with the arm-bar. This is Classic Judo. Action-Reaction.
There are 3 points where Sarah could have been more careful:
1. Obviously, do not over-extend on the strike, but that is hard.
2. When Ronda had the 2-on-1, one counter is to grab the FAR elbow, Ronda's right elbow, so as to make Ronda square to her.
3. When she went down and posted, should have been much more careful with the reaction: it was a simple trap that she didn't have any clue about (poor standing grappling posture).
Congrats on your analysis. I just see Ronda's grappling instinsts take over where the opponent has none. Has no clue to the danger she was in and realized the pressure on her arm and yelled out in desperation. Ronda looked so calm/focused just like in her championship judo matches.
I am sure my analysis is incomplete, but that is what I saw.
Its not technically a 2 on 1 (its almost a position for an arm-drag), as Ronda's right arm is on the inside of Sarah's arm. Nonetheless, Sarah's arm is so deeply trapped...I am having hard time remembering where else had I seen such a deep trap... Sarah didn't know what hit her.
this is just a sumie into an armbar. she went over in the armbar clinic and everyone got.
Gary, I envy the fact you can go to Ronda's clinic(s) and learn from a proven and rising star and just hang out afterwards.
judom - I am sure my analysis is incomplete, but that is what I saw.

It really did not look like that to me either.
That armbar did not look effective. Her thighs were so far apart she could have been attempting to do the splits.
Ronda will be teaching this armbar at her clinic on October 1st.
Will "verbal submission" be explained and clearly defined prior to the clinic starting, Gary?
lol
Wish I could make it 10/1.
