I'm sick of hearing people mention her personal problems as an excuse for her loss. Everyone has them and how you deal with them is what makes you a champion. You have athletes playing games knowing their kids are dying of cancer, playing a game moments after hearing their family members died, etc. You have military over seas in a war knowing that their wives left them or they have not they'd their children in years and may never get the chance and then going out to battle in a situation 1000 times more serious than an mma match. The fact is that she wasn't trained properly, unprepared, or she's over rated or a mix of all three.

Why would an Olympic caliber athlete be unprepared for a fight? We will never know what Ronda's issues were but shouldn't Holly get most of the credit for having the skill and fight iq to implement her gameplan?
Don't you think Tyson's loss to Douglas had something to do with personal problems outside of fighting? I would say that it was a huge factor.

Tyson lost because he didn't train 100%, was surrounded by yes men, fucked jap hooked all night before the fight, and had condoms filled with room water to stop his swelling because his corner didn't have any ice or a press.

EddiePain420 - snakey89'dLol. This is a rick storm solid and 10 bro.

I don't understand why you would mention dying cancer kids or dead relatives. That isn't the norm and is an extreme example of a distraction.
Also not sure how many people are using it as an excuse.
judonoob - "The fact is that she wasn't trained properly, unprepared, or she's over rated or a mix of all three."Tysons issues were worse than Ronda's by far and the buster fight he didnt train for a real fight, didnt even have his regular coaches in his corner, and after all that he still didnt get dominated, truth be told he should have won that fight as he had douglas dropped for more than the 10 count, think it was 13 seconds or something. That was a fucked up night not in tysons power.

But who knows, Ronda is a woman so they stress about little shit, your coach and his IRS issues? Well thats his oroblem not yours, mom saying he is a bad coach? Wow, brush it off, showing up to media events.....that is hard I admit, but she shoukd be used to it by now and it never affected her prior as she does it before every fight and this tine her opponent had to do it with her.
Showing up looking less in shape than normal...thats on her
And the real reason she lost...Holm is a real athlete, trained her whole life just as Ronda, she is not a soccer mom who picked up MMA 4 years ago. Holm was just better and had a better team with Jacksons who are known to have the best game plans, edmond is a shit coach and Ronda was never a good boxer under him, his name was made by her winning with Judo

Ronda's issue was Holly's superior skill.
tenchu is right. Such a huge disparity in striking/footwork skill level. Its obvious

Absolutely not an excuse.
But to pretend that where a fighter is at in life has no effect on thier performance in a cage/ring is also absolutely ridiculous.
She was physically unprepared to fight an accomplished and talented martial artist with a great gameplan and the skills to implement it, and she was mentally unprepared to fight someone who didn't give a fuck that she was Ronda Rousey.
schaub broke up with her twice, right before big fights
she still won
