Rousey: 'Cyborg' Justino will 'fall into obscurity

<p>Ronda Rousey recently held a media day at her home gym, Glendale Fight Club, and again answered more questions about a fight with Cris Cyborg:</p>
Justino has defended the belt twice since then with TKO wins in less than a minute each, including earlier this month in Las Vegas when she shut down Faith Van Duin in 45 seconds.
But Rousey believes if a fight ever comes to fruition, it may be her last in MMA because she’ll have cleaned everyone else out and can get one last grudge match win, then walk away.
“I have this idea in my mind that my final fight would be just beating the crap out of Cris ‘Cyborg,’ and then when (UFC President) Dana (White) puts the belt on me the last time, I could take it off and hand it back to him,” Rousey said. “But if she doesn’t step up, I can move on and do other things with my life. She’s the one who’s going to fall into obscurity without me.”
I feel like Cyborg boxed herself in by signing a Zuffa contract to stay in Invicta. Now she is on Fight Pass only. If she had gone to Bellator they could have promoted her and put her on TV and she would have had a better platform to prove she is the best. Hopefully she can get out of that Zuffa contract soon.

Cyborg probably makes more money with Invicta FC than she would in Bellator. Plus the UFC can take her out whenever they want if she can make 135lbs.

It is just too much of a pay per view windfall to let it go especially when they don't have that many proven draws at the moment after Conor.
The fight will never happen because Cyborg won't be able to hit 135 consecutively. Had 3 years to do it, still hasn't. The more and more cyborg talks about RR, the more and more apathetic it becomes.
With the IV ban I think you could be right...there is always the "moneyweight" division.
If/once Rousey rolls though Betch, then either Tate or Eye and then McMann...who will be left? The Venezuelan Vixen seems a long way from ready so they could be out of options soon. Its going to get harder to convince people to pay for a 20 second pay per view headliner the more it happens with Rousey.

Cris was making money before Ronda and she will continue to make money without Ronda. The question you need to ask yourself is why did Zuffa pursue and are currently paying Cris Cyborgs Invicta fight purse to prevent her from going to Bellator?

Why do other fighters matter? You get paid based on performance and draw. And why don't you answer my question as to how much cyborg was getting paid before Ronda came around? It sure as hell wasn't 100k.
Cyborg needs Ronda if she wants to make millions. This is a fact. This is my argument. Ronda is a superstar and is only getting bigger with or without the cyborg fight.

Cris Cyborgs last disclosed SF fight purse was $66k. No idea what she was making in Invicta prior to the Zuffa contract as that was not disclosed. Scott Coker made it clear in an interview that money is no issue when it comes to acquiring fighters so if Cris really wanted to go to Bellator, I am sure she could have. Cris makes money based on her name, how many fighters can say that? she doesn't need the Ronda fight or the UFC PR machine. Cris said it herself that she can retire without either and still live a comfortable life. How many female fighters in the UFC not named Ronda can say that?
Cris and Ronda do not need to fight each other. Fighting females who, and I say this respectfully are no where near the talent level is a beautiful thing for Ronda to make millions from.
why did rhonda drop from featherweight to bantamweight when she entered strikeforce instead of going after the more prolific (at the time) featherweight division? gina Carano and Cyborg had made that division very interesting and lucrative indeed but Rhonda wanted no part of it.

i mean, she competed at 70kg (154ish lbs) for judo, dropped to 145 for mma, but felt the need to drop even more after she was signed to the most prolific female mma organization at the time and avoided the most high profile weight class. i just dont get it.

I disagree with you point about Marloes being on the decline. Nobody want to fight Cris. Those in her weight class either left to go to Bellator or moved down to 135 :)
Cyborg is Ronda's ultimate test. No matter how well she does, Ronda will never be known as the greatest if she finishes her career while ducking PRIME Cyborg (a fight with Cyborg a few years later means squat).
