We are bringing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt, Roy Dean down to the University of Western of Ontario for a weekend seminar this upcoming Saturday Mar. 3rd and Sunday 4th.
Start time is 11am. This is a great opportunity for all BJJers to come together and share in the knowledge! This will be the first time he has taught in Ontario!

Mr. Roy Dean is pure class and holds blackbelts in Aikido, Judo and BJJ. I am honored to have been on the mat with him for training, as he holds nothing back and wants you to excel. He is a man of true honor and his BJJ is not too shabby either. And the topic of the seminar, the triangle, I believe is his "go to" move. There is a clip on youtube of him hitting a flying triangle in a tourney as a purple belt.
In short...bring your audio recorder, pen and paper, and soak up the day, as these dont come by very often. Roy is an excellent bjj teacher and player and a great human being. Although I dont know this for certain, but I am pretty sure he will roll with anyone who is down.

I dont usually go to seminars but I think Im going to this one. Roy Dean is an excellent martial artist.
Correct if I'm wrong but wasn't Roy Harris showing for this seminar too?

Due to logistical problems its just Dean now. Harris will be at a later date.

I think Harris and Dean have plenty of respect in the community.
Like someone said, not all of the original Gracies have stuck to the IBJJF platform religiously. Personally, I dont think the IBJJF should be the be all end all. It is a heavily flawed organization IMHO. But suffice it to say, if you think Roy Dean is a mcDojo guy, then this is probably a seminar you should skip. If you prefer to triain with the original Gracie brothers, I understand and would be more than happy to recommend one to you, since I have trained with many of them.
Roy Dean is a fairly well known black belt, not for his competition achievements but for producing excellent instructional products.Conversely BJJ1553 is a well known douche. 
The IBJJF rules are a completely arbitrary guideline made up by Chuck Jr. They are not Carlos/Helio's Guidelines.
Who cares anyway? You know what's McDojo'ish? Having sewing circle gossip about time between black belt degrees. You'd fit right in at a TKD school.
But whatever, you're just doing your usual IBJJF troll schtick.

BTW, Why don't you call up Relson Gracie and tell him he is a scammer since he has stated that he does not give a darn about IBJJ. Go ahead, ask him. You might want to call Rickson too. Helio did things his own way as well.
1) You're is correct.
2) Roy competed in the IBJJF Mundials last year. What's your point?
3) From what I know, Relson does not grade according to IBJJF, and has verbally stated something to that effect. Rickson has promoted not according to IBJJF standards also. There are others too.
