There’s absolutely nothing like early Sepultura. The closest I’ve heard anything get to that sound is 2008-2012 Soulfly, a lot of that material is thrashy (even though ALL Soulfly is great, particularly their later material). If you haven’t listened to Sepultura since Max left, try checking some of it out. The earlier material was a bit lukewarm and lacked cohesion (Against, Nation, Roorback), but their last three records have been outstanding.

Indeed they were, right up to Arise when they went Trash, then the 2 masterpieces that was Chaos AD and Roots.
