I've always heard that Rickson was pissed, and that he complained that he had "trained my whole life for this". But he was still there in the Gracie train to support his brother.
I thought it was because Royce was skinnier, so it would look more better for GJJ if skinny Royce beat everyone, rather than the more muscular Rickson.

Right, this is Rorion's side of the story. I've read from a few sources that it was really from a failed attempt to come to an agreement with Rickson. But I cant blame Rorion for giving that version if it's true. There's no need to drag a family dispute into the public.

he didnt care at all. he was wanting literally a million dollars. rorion, Davie, & his Father even told him they dont have that and are putting in their own money to do this. he still wanted big money saying this Mike Tyson guy gets all these millions I should get at least 1 million. Helio was pissed! Rickson found people in japan willing to pay close to his price (VTJ) and he took off.
