See Royce get completely dominated really sucked as I have viewed him as the greatest for a long time now. Watching Hughes crank on his arm had me wincing as I thought Royce was going to have his arm broken.
Has age caught up with Royce or is it that he really isn't the god we all thought as he doesn't do well when facing someone that actually has fighting skills, for example, when he was dismantled by Wallid or the current destruction that Hughes laid on him.

I don't thin he's overrated, but his jiujitsu is not adapted for an MMA style. Carlson IMO, is the only Gracie to adapt his jiujitsu, make it more aggressive, and add techniques specific to MMA. That's why his fighters have done so well.

A lot of people thought he'd beat Hughes or at least put up a credible fight. So yeah, he was overrated by those people.
His Jiu Jitsu isn?t old or outdated he was plain and simple not as good as hughes even with the BJJ.
Hughes passed the guard hat very good side mount hold downs, works for a kimura, all basic BJJ stuff but he did it much better than Royce.
