Royler in San Diego?

I pulled up next to him and his wife at a stop light a block away from my house.

Anyone know if he's living here now? Teaching anywhere?

San Diego has more BJJ blackbelts than in has McDonald's.

No he is moving to Canada to train with teammalice!

check out the fightworks podcast for his interview. He explains his plans in SD.

Royler and I both got stuck outside the airport for over an hour once back in 2002.  It was actually before Eddie had his match with him.  It was an odd situation, we all got forced out of the terminal because of a security scare.  I think someone left behind a back pack or something, so we all got shuffled outside to wait while they checked it out.  I introduced myself to him, and he was really cool and friendly.  It was just total dumb luck that we met in the same place in line.

What I thought was going to be a huge pain in the ass in getting forced outside actually gave me the opportunity to have a long talk with one of the greatest names in jiu jitsu.  It was awesome - we talked about the Sakuraba fight, and his thoughts about doing MMA in the future, we talked Jiu Jitsu competitions, training - it was a really enjoyable conversation.

I was just organizing my pictures tonight and I stumbled accross this, so I thought I would share it with you folks.

I wish I could run into a Gracie.

wOw! Rogan has turned into name dropper, fan boy!

Cool photo, and is that someone being Triangle Choked on your hat?

It's always a honor when i run into Royler but I would also be stoked if I ever run into/meet Rogan.

ThEUniT - I wish I could run into a Gracie.

Me too. Kyra. ;)

my guess is that he is training at Saulo's.

i ran into Kyra Gracie at Pick Up Stix in LA a couple months ago. it was cool but then it wasnt cause she was with her man, Marcio..

I thought the interview stated that Royler might move to San Diego, but he would not be opening an academy- rather, he would be busy doing seminars, etc...I could always be wrong though.

I got the scoop from my buddy who knows Royler.

He is not opening a school, he will teach privates and seminars and train at Saulos.

He will probably teach privates out of his house and just travel doing seminars.

how much for privates..
