Despite sanctions and Biden pointing fingers, the Ruble is now at 53 to USD which is a 7 year high.

They are probably on edge. This isnā€™t really a ā€œgoodā€ thing for Russia when it comes to their exports. Theyā€™d probably prefer it be lower

When your currency and economy are under attack then its actually better to maintain a stronger currency. You want to maintain domestic confidence in your own currency rather than having citizens cash out into a foreign currency so that they can sit on it.

Interest rate cuts are likely coming to Russia soon, they are down to 9.5% from 20% in only a few short months.

Record trade surplus and exports too, despite the most brutal sanctions lobbed at any country in decades. They have not only managed to survive it, they are thriving right now. They are swimming in cash

They donā€™t need EU or US to sell oil to anymore. They just announced a deal with China that makes them the biggest supplier to the Asian Pacific market.

I dont understand the economics behind it but Russia is doing much better than the west through this war. Ruble is up and apparently the property they have annexed formerly produced 80% of the Ukraine GDP. Putin is ā€˜winning.ā€™ Biden is focused on trannys and reading Que-cards.
