Because it's an Olympic qualifier match. USA loves the Olympics. Phone Post 3.0

Incorrect.

football came from rugby.

Do some research.

ask yourself where the term "touchdown" came from and watch a rugby "try". Phone Post 3.0

football coming from rugby doesn't mean they're anything alike.

the free form of rugby is vastly different from the stop and start chess match of football, the forward pass and the blocking fundamentally change the game.

soccer is closer to rugby than football is.

you should watch some football some time.

Stop.

played football thru highschool. I know the game.

I didn't say they're identical, but you know damn well there's a relation.

Troll on if you must. Phone Post 3.0

something doesn't have to be like football for me to enjoy it. I like watching soccer for example. I just hate when ppl exagerate the similarities between football and rugby in order to somehow appeal to this imagined idea of American sports taste.

honestly, playing football in high school doesn't mean you understand the game. It's an extraordianrily complex and deep sport.

Im not trolling just pointing out stupidity in posts from ppl that dont understand football like this steve guy

I understand football.

I enjoy both sports.

Played both, although rugby I've only played recreationally.

I enjoy watching both sports as well.

You're missing out, Greg. Phone Post 3.0

Aussie rules football is better than both Phone Post
