Isn't "they" "you?" And welcome to the board:)

I first seen RYU at the132 UFC after party at XS Night Club in Vegas last summer after the Cris Leben fight.I really liked the gear and John Wood took care of everyone from the fight.John and RYU have done a great job building this amazing line of tear 1 gear and i'm happy to support them. It is nice stuff.
The only RYU I trust yells "HADOKEN" while fighting troops on Air Force bases
just like that one kid's youtube video of him burning ticket why can't people just say hey, this my shit
That commercial was unreal, that hoody was beautiful..does anyone know when RYU will be available in stores?
Who is John Wood? I don't think I ever saw a brand in this space come out of no where and BAM people are talkign about it. I think tying everything to Fitch may have been a mis step, but really looking forward to seeing how they unfold.
I like the concept, more geared towards real martial artists..very zen.
I noticed Hector Lumbard is being sponsored by RYU, now that is a tough sob at 185.
If anyone has any updates about this company i'm all ears :)
$68 for a t-shirt? Wha?

Seems like they have an association with Nike.
I saw the commercial at the last UFC - I went to the website after the event and checked it out some pretty cool stuff on there. What other fighters do they have signed who are sponsored by them? I saw they have Mr.Olympia and Jon Fitch so far.
Now that UFC is going mainstream on Fox they need to move alway from the Tapout/Affliction/Detrone Gangster/thug apparel and gently bring in there mainstream audience. I own the RYU gear and i bought the stock in the open market after seeing it at the RYU promo party at UFC 132 in Vegas. The mens 2012 line is on the ground and looks great. The womens line is coming this spring.

John Wood is mostly know for his business participation in the Vegas night scene at a high level. From the website he's been "Executive Director for XS Nightclub at Encore and Tryst Nightclub at Wynn Resort both in Las Vegas."
From the grapevine, I heard he has an ownership stake in those clubs & has a good amount of bread. But that's hearsay.
I agree that tying it all to Fitch was a maybe not the best choice. More grapevine here, but Fitch got paid a really nice amount of money for the sponsorship. The number I heard was a LOT MORE than I would've guessed.
Plenty of information here:

Yes the stock has done well and holds around a $1.00 per share for now.Incredible management team from Nike and Lu Lu Lemon running RYU.
$68 for a t-shirt?? They must be aiming for the well-to-do MMA fan....
I really liked the commercial - it looked very professional and clean. The gear looked very cool to - I asked earlier who have they signed thus far? I know Jon Fitch and Mr.Olympia have they signed already are there any other names signed on?
I was very impressed with the commercial, clothing is very original. RYU looks like there building the brand properly, i'm tired of all the Tap Out stuff. I'm 34 years old and I can't wear Tap Out gear anymore, I look like i'm trying to be a 20 year old kid..this is aimed at a much wider demographic. Everytime i'm wearing a Tap Out shirt, I have guys staring me down sizing me up..lol.
I'm a big fan of MMA but I don't like rolling around with every UFC wanna be out there..this gear is very cool, plus if they have ex LuLu Lemon and Nike Management on board they know what they are doing.
What's the trading symbol for RYU? I'll have a closer look at it.

Wait, I know that name. Is he the same guy who used to date Amber Nicole? I met him when we did the Never Submit auditions in Vegas.
