S&C ground to train me

o.k. i am getting back into shape no matter what. i am in horrible shape right now. i began my quest last week with some lifting and cardio and some bag work. ate much better than i have been and did well. i found if i try to go nuts right away i give up cuz i suck. so i'm gonna ease into it a little more and not give up. heading back to mma/jj too.

took some pictures of myself to help gauge my progress.

note: the mirror will not disgust you nearly as much as a picture of your fat ass.

weight isn't a factor really since i just want to be in good shape. after my 4th of july binge eating weekend i weighed in at 200.5 lbs. i'm about 5'9" and yes i'm fat.

yesterday was 190.5 but i was empty and i know weight flutuates greatly. so i realize i didn't really loose any fat.

i could easily weigh 160- 170 and not be totally ripped. that's how out of shape i am.

so why am i telling you this? i don't know really.LOL

i will be using and trying all the different things i've read here to get myself a good program going and see what i can do. so you guys will all be indirectly training me.

hopefully i'll stay with it more than 2 weeks :) and have stuff to update you guys with.

*eats slice of pizza*  (o.k. that was a joke)

good luck with it. Keep us updated - there's nowt like going public with a training goal to keep you motivated.

yeah, that was part of the idea too.

I'm in the same boat dude. I had gotten down to an acceptable 178 this winter, but I have crept back up to 185 very recently. This week is kick off week for me as well. I'm gunning for 170.

Good luck man.

Good luck. i am on the same boat. i am 5-9 and 185 of fat. i have been doing some body weight stuff like dips and pullups. and pushups.

I plan to add intervals with squats thrust.

son of a bitch!!!!!! well after the swelling in my right knee subsided i am now left with an annoying click that feels very weird and wrong when i walk down stairs. it does it at other times but the motion of going down stairs does it everytime. so i will be easing back on my training i guess.

i made an appointment today with my ortho Dr. but it's not until aug 2. then who knows about an MRI. i'm hoping it just goes away. had my left knee done a couple years ago. torn lateral miniscus and i had a discoid meniscus that was shredded and "looked like crab meat" according to the Dr.

so yay for me, finally get motivated and ready to do something and look what happens. it's hopefully nothing but we'll see. if it's doesn't hurt i'm gonna keep going i guess, if something snaps then maybe i can get in the Dr's sooner. LOL

worked out everyday since july 4 yesterday was a day off and gonna keep going. diet has not been great but compared to before it's 100 times better.

If you're in lousy shape, don't go crazy right away. Work up to an ambitious program so your body gets used to the idea and can gear up for it. Jumping in too aggressively can result in injury.

As for your knee, it's good to get it checked. Keep it moving and don't push too hard. One thing a lot of inactive guys forget to do is mobility training. It's not very hardcore for weight loss, but it releases a lot of muscle tension and improves the function of your joints to help prevent injury.

i have been on and off as far as working out i haven't been totally inactive or anything and i am trying to start easy for that very reason.

as far as the knee thing, i have the appointment made and won't do anything to much to it in the meantime, it's more just odd vs. pain or mobility issues. we'll see i guess. thanks.

just finished with some stuff 45 min moderate pace on an exercise bike. 3 x 10 leg extensions and leg curls. calf raises just one leg at a time on the bottom stair on my basement. and 25 squats bodyweight only (slow, no bouncing) it was kind of a test to see what happens with my knee. felt fine during and feels good now. yet coming downstairs from the shower. *pop*  *pop*  *pop*  *pop*
