Sambo Summit Training Camp. Oct 21-23. Seattle

Hi all, it is time for our annual Sambo Summit Training Camp! October 21-23, Seattle, Washington. This year's coaches will be Aaron Fields, Gregg Humphreys, Doug Fournet, and Stephen Koepfer. This camp is always a blast and is open to all grapplers of any level. The camp is required for ASA pro member clubs.

$300.00 USD – Includes three days of training (postmarked before October 1st, 2011)

Summit Coaches:

Aaron Fields. Seattle, Washington
Aaron Fields makes his living as a Seattle firefighter and EMT, with literally hundreds of emergency calls under his belt. Seattle’s Fire and Medic I program is recognized as one of the nation’s leaders in emergency medicine. Aaron is a Washington state instructor for fire behavior and engine company operations. He is an independent scholar specializing in Mongolian history and has made several visits to live and train wrestling/Sambo in Mongolia. Aaron holds a teacher’s grade in Ju-Jutsu, a dan grade in Judo, has considerable experience in Sambo and Mongolian folk wrestling, and has coached high school wrestling. Aaron is the chief instructor at Seattle Ju-Jutsu Club/Sea Town Sambo Club and is the West Coast Vice President of the American Sambo Association.

Gregg Humphreys. Bettendorf, Iowa
Gregg Humphreys is a long time Judoka and Sambist. He has travelled to Russia for Sambo training bi-annually since 1987 and is considered one of the most skilled and knowledgeable American Sambo coaches. He was the Judo and Sambo coach at Miletich Fighting Systems in Bettendorf, Iowa, where he is currently the martial arts director at Crossfit Invincible Gym. Gregg is the Midwest Vice President of the American Sambo Association. Additionally, Gregg is the North American representative for Igor Kurinnoy’s Sambo for Professionals.

Doug Fournet. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Doug is a longtime Judoka & Sambist having competed on the US team for FILA worlds (Sambo and grappling), FIAS (Sambo), and the American Sambo Association's Team American Sambo (Sambo and Grappling). He is also a Battle of Brooklyn veteran, World Combat Games veteran (Sambo), veteran of several mixed martial arts fights, and most recently brought home gold from the 2010 British Sambo Open and 2011 Dutch Sambo Open. Doug currently coaches at LA Boxing: Baton Rouge.

Stephen Koepfer. New York, New York
Stephen is a Master of Sport of Russia in Combat Sambo, the head coach of New York Combat Sambo and the President of the American Sambo Association. He has coached athletes to wins in national and international Sport & Freestyle Sambo, Submission Grappling, Combat Sambo, and Mixed Martial Arts. Stephen has written for Ultimate Grappling Magazine, Bodyguard Magazine, and The Journal of Asian Martial Arts. He was a technical advisor to History Channel’s Human Weapon, appeared in Dhani Tackles the Globe: Russia on the Travel Channel, and is producer of the critically acclaimed documentary New York Mixed Martial Arts.
