good move? or is this to be expected as inflation rises?

Eh. Sf is expensive as fuck to live. Phone Post 3.0

With the cost of living being what it is there, I doubt there are many people making below that to begin with.

But no, I don't think it's a good move. I don't think price controls ever end up working out the way people think they will.

stupid.  government should never mandate wages.

workers should compete for jobs based on skill and employers should compete for good workers based on their offerings to them.

Everything there is already super expensive. It will just continue to get worse. I wouldn't want to be there.

why do people think that businesses will be content to eat the costs for mandated higher wages?  If you dont think that the cost for these goods and services will rise commensurably, youre on crack

I look fwd to using those machines for orders. They have those at movie theatres and it's equated to less line ups and faster service.

Just wait until they start trying to mandate how much businesses can increase their prices...

I've seen that meme a lot and if you think you want that... just wait until you're behind someone who has never used a computer before.

Have you ever waited behind someone at a self checkout at a grocery store or behind someone at a redbox? It's brutal. Imagine that but 10x worse.

A guy hits button for a big mac... waits... looks confused... looks around for someone to help him... wants to have no pickles.... waits even longer. Kiosk times out... he has to start over again.

you don't have to totally do away with lines

having a normal line, an automated line, and an app that you can order from would be ideal

Not to mention, at my grocery store, there are like 8 self-checkouts and 1 guy that monitors them, instead of 8 separate cashiers.
