Judo gold medalist(at the Beijin Olympics)Satoshi Ishii beat UFC fighter Sean McCorkle at 02:41 in round 1 at the IGF MMA match. Jeff Monson was going to fight Ishii but pulled out due to a back injury.
The Japanese website only says "Ishii won via armlock," and I assume he submitted McCorkle via "udegarami" armlock(its reverse variation is known as "kimura").Still waiting for the details.
I know, but Rolles Gracie also fought and beat Yusuke Kawaguchi at the IGF event last year. They seem to be catering to both prowrassling and MMA fans by making the distinctions clear.
Fawkin shitty.
Way to go, Satoshi! Guy is on a winning streak ever since Fedor lol
thanks but why would you assume the armlock was an ude-garami?
FatBuddha - thanks but why would you assume the armlock was an ude-garami?
That is his only submission I have seen so far in his MMA matches. Perhaps he used the reverse udegarami(better known as kimura). I'm just guessing. Sorry if I'm wrong.
In before corky
Ishii Judo footage, when he was in his prime(lol)and a lot bigger.

Chareth Cutestory - Impressive. McCorkle's got to have 100lbs over Ishii.
Ishii is a pretty big dude, mid sized HW.
Good. McCorkle needs to learn respect.

He's fought at mw before.
I'm willing to bet Sean got a decent payday.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a work or shoot.
LOAN VIPER -Hang em up champ
Yeah I probably should have done better on 36 hrs notice, 26 of which was spent traveling, against a judo gold medalist who just beat Tim Sylvia

I don't think he has, I believe he has fought at LHW before, but he isn't a big HW at all

the overwhelming majority of us still love ya pal.
props for steppin up & keep livin your dream.
Stepped up, respect.
A few weeks ago I spent 16 hours traveling from the east coast to Narita. That was 16 hours ON 2 airplanes, not counting the layover. It took a lot out of me and the jetlag was hard. Amazing somebody could fight right after doing that especially against a high level guy. Props to Sean for stepping up!
