Sayoc Kali - Sama Sama

Just got back from my US trip :-)

It wasn't a planned tour, but I was honoured to be invited to attend Sayoc Kali's annual Sama Sama get together.............and I could not pass up the opportunity.

It also gave me a chance to meet with some of my Instructors to give them the latest updates on FFS.

So how was Sama Sama 2004???

In one word PHENOMENAL.

Through my friendship with Guro Steve Lefebvre, many people have asked me what Sayoc Kali is all about, and how it compares to what I do.

The answer to this question has been very illusive, and hard to give an accurate portrayal, as I myself wasn't sure of what the answer is, until now.

It was only my invovement in Sama Sama, that I was able to finally "GET IT"

My personal opinion of what Sayoc Kali is "all about"..................it's all about the PEOPLE.

I have never been in the company of people more open, more friendly, more willing to share, and more capable than those I have met in Sama Sama.

People of all levels of expertise, varying experiences and from even different "styles" - shoulder to shoulder.

NO Politics, NO Egos, NO Bickering.

Instead what I found was friendship, brotherhood, openess and LOTS of dust!!!!!!!!

I think the "secret" of Sayoc Kali is the way literally hundreds of members move as one....and this can only be achieve through strong leadership. Just meet with the Tuhons and Guros of Sayoc Kali and you will see what I mean.

This strong leadership and "leading by example", easily trickles down in the attitudes and character of their members, whether they are complete beginners or seasoned participants.

I would just like to thank ALL at Sayoc Kali.............and the Atienza Clan, you have made me feel so welcomed and the generosity and brotherhood has overwhelmed me.

THANK YOU
