Why is it that no one new can sign up?
If you are referring to the SBGi Members Forum, it is for "Members" of
SBGi. When you purchase a membership (go to the store) an account
will be created for you.

Tim is correct. You don't have to be a member of a specific gym, just a member of the association. This gives you a number of benefits, one of which is the forum access- which is worth the price by itself! Though you are a long way away in Japan, Matt does a retreat in Thailand every year, and you should definitely hook that up if you can.
Being a member of the SBGi members forum benefits you in more ways then one. Trust me.
