I'm talking about the original from around '96.
Best film of it's genre in that era or not?
What genre is that, slasher?
I like scream, but i wouldn't say it was that good.
Ghostface scared the shit out of me as a kid. As I got older and had seen them all multiple times the chase scenes were funny to me with ghostface stumbling over all the shit they tried to stop him/her with.
It's second only to Scary Movie.
It kicked started the horror genre in Hollwood (for better or worse) and started the self aware style of horror. Personally i like it.
i thought it was a fantastic movie when it came out..i remember watching it in the theater, the entire audience was going crazy, laughing and scared same time...good times...
Love the series. Killing off the biggest name in the first 10 mins was awesome.
I loved it but I had a huge thing for Neve Campbell.
one of the last movies I saw at the drive-in. my brother hid me in the trunk of his car to get in. good times
Palmala Handerson - It was great for its time, still holds up pretty well IMO.
This
Great movie! Saw it again a few years ago and it still held up.
Its a classic
Wes Craven knew what he waa doing. Made a film/series that openly mocked horror/slasher films and made a decent slasher at the same time.
It is a work of genius. Series was good even up to 4
'Ghostface' is so iconic!
I'd shit a brick if I had someone terrorizing me wearing that mask.
Yes the original is the benchmark for teen horror comedies
This film has a place in my heart.
I remember being 6 or 7, and having this hot as fuck babysitter who would get a couple of her mates round when they were looking after us and watch a film. I snuck down when they thought me and my brothers were sleeping and watched the whole thing lying on the floor behind a couch. It stayed with me for a good year or two after. I'd check my closet before bed like 'fuck please don't let there be a serial killer in here......... phew.'
I still rate the Scream costume as one of the top horror costumes of all time. Its got a dark simplicity that sticks.
Hey, there's a good video on YouTube of someone filming a real life prank version of the garage scene and the girl fucking freaks. It's great. I'll try and find a link if a blue can post.
DrunkenOtter - I loved it but I had a huge thing for Neve Campbell.
I loved Neve Campbell. It broke my heart when I finally saw her pancake titties. :(
I really enjoyed the 2 Scream films, somebody tried to tell me they had made a 3rd and 4th, but he also thinks that Highlander has a sequel so he is obviously insane.

Le Manoir du Diable (1896)

Imagine if they made a fourth Indiana jones movie!
Scream is a great movie. It's very watchable even now. If I have kids, they will watch it on Halloween when they turn three.
