If you want more pay you help your company make more money. Your superiors would only hire those worth the money and people could compete for the best jobs. It isn't the most well thought out plan and I'm struggling to convey my thoughts. I just wanted to discuss it.

Because freedom and earnings are directly related.
The minute Gov Co says you can only earn so much, then they are saying the labor beyond that is free...meaning you are working for them. Working for free is indentured servitude.
Why are you worried about another man's top earnings? You should encourage low wage earners to increase their knowledge and skill set and to take on more responsibility, that is the only way to increase a wage.

Also, good luck getting into a C suite without an Ivy League education and knowing the right people. Does not happen anymore.
