So I was playing at the fabulous Hawaiian Gardens Casino this morning. Cards are dealt and I have A9. Not a horrible hand three handed. Pot is raised and I call pre-flop. Flop comes out A98 rainbow. I bet...one folds, one calls. Turn card is a 4. I bet, get raised, and I call. River is a 5. I bet again with the top two pair. I get raised all in and call it. Douchebag shows me three deuce offsuit and takes the pot down with a straight. Would you guys have played this hand differently?
the guy got lucky - but you let him get lucky.
without the ammounts bet its hard to decipher your hand, but no limit, unlike limit, gives you the ability to make drawing hands pay too steep a price to draw. did you do that or did you let him draw cheaply? did you bet enough on the flop and the turn to shut down his runner runner draw? why didn't you re-raise all in in the turn and make him pay for that miracle river card?
Man, sometimes its impossible to put a person on a hand.
The way that hand was described, I would have figured it was a slowplay of pocket 8's or 9's.
2/3 would be the last thing I figured him for.

true but when you flop aces up, you can't be too fatalistic. if the guy has trips, most likely i'm going broke on that hand. what i'd be worried about is a J10 or 67 drawing on me or a bigger ace, and i'd try to bet him off his hand on the turn after his reraise.
i wouldn't have put him on a 23 either but when he went all in on the river after the 5 hit, i probably would have thought 67 was very possible - you never should have given him the chance to hit that 5 though.
yeah. I'm going broke too. But, I would have made a large enough bet on the flop to discourage, J/10, 6/7 or any Ace big kicker. If they call and beat me, I don't care.
I'm not a big fan of slowplaying unless I think I'm still gonna be a big leader IF they hit their hand on the turn. Might stop me from getting extra value sometimes, but seeing the card, you didn't want to see on the turn or river is more painful.
Sorry guys...this was limit...he put me all in with the last of my money.
Was he the one who raised preflop?
IMO you missed a reraise on the turn, especially since you
had to have figured you'd be all in on that pot anyway.
you gotta love the card catchers !! 2 3 aint getting there on a regular basis so just wait the cards always break out even !
I don't understand a single thing here.
