I really dislike fights when it features two guys I know and genuinely consider friends, however I'd be failing to give them due diligence as fighters if I didn't make mention of their upcoming fight.
Murphy and Salmon will face off next Friday, June 18, as part of Ringside 7-- "No Escape", which will be held at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Salmon is looking to make a splash in his debut with the Ringside promotion by knocking off the previously unbeaten UFC vet Murphy. Meanwhile, Murphy looks to keep his unbeaten record in place, while picking up a win over a solid vet in Salmon. Both are solid wrestlers, and this should be a solid fight to watch.
The main event of this show will feature Ringside Lightweight champion Guillaume "Il Toro" de Lorenzi defending his belt for the first time as he faces three-time UFC vet Dale Hartt.

I've trained with both, but it has been awhile. I'll give it to Tom. Stand-up they're both a lil suspect, and Salmon can probably take him down at will, but Tom is one of the best MMA guys I've ever rolled with off his back. I think Salmon's normal strength of being on top on the ground, won't be much of an advantage in this one..good luck to both tho! SPROUT
Snuggles, its been a long time, one of the times I came back up there to train for a few days he stopped in. It was probably before you started training since I trained with him for any extended period. If his stand-up has improved then I think it is a near lock for him. Good to know too, Tom was one of the coolest guys I've ever trained with. SPROUT
Tom has always had heavy hands and good wrestling/submissions. Moving to Tri Star was a great call for his career, and he's going to only get better from here.
Also, Sprout I couldn't agree with you more on Murphy's character. He is truly one of the most genuine good guys in this sport.
damn sean salmon still fighting? saw that dude get brutally ko'd again in strikeforce...glad he's ok and fighting i heard a rumor that that would be his last fight
I wouldn't necessarily say a hobby, but Tom's been in athletics pretty much his whole life, and he still has the competitive spark, while realizing that the chances of making a major killing in MMA are small.
