Seattle-Area Martial Arts Tournament on Jan. 31st!

WARRIOR-ONE INVITATIONAL II TOURNAMENT

If you are in the Seattle-area, come join us for a great day of competition in a fun modified mixed martial arts format. The format of this tournament allows the participant to use kicks, punches, throw/takedowns, pins and submissions in a controlled way. This is one of the best formats for being able to use a variety of techniques, while keeping all of the competitors as safe as possible. Let us emphasize that this is not a full-contact, knock out style tournament. For all of the details, please check out the rules link below. If you'd like to participate in this style of tournament, just register and pay for the tournament in the links below or come in on the day of the tournament at 11am.

We look forward to your participation and a fun day of sportsmanship, comraderie, learning and growing together. If you have any questions, feel free to call. See you soon,

Swift - Isn't this ISJJA sport jiujitsu format?

 Hey Swift,

It is very similar (and is based) off of the spor jujitsu format (which we like a lot).  The main difference is that there can be points earned for all pins/holdowns and also, when a submission occurs, there is 5 points given, instead of the match ending.

We revised the format to make it as fair as possible for strikers AND grapplers.  And since a striker can't get a victory by knocking out their opponent, we didn't think it was fair that a grappler could win by getting a submission.  Plus, this format will test each contestants conditioning because they will be going the full 3 minutes for each match they have :-)

Should be a lot of fun, hope some of you can make it.
