Former Cage Rage head man turned UCMMA boss Dave O'Donnell has just had his hand in the successful Canadian Knockout Entertainment MMA: The Reckoning event, the first sanctioned MMA event in Ontario, as well as continuing to promote his own shows here in the UK.
Helping his fighters have some sort of security - a rare commodity in UK MMA - is key for him, and he chatted to www.yourmma.tv about it and his plans for the future.
“I’m not one of these who will say ‘we’re gonna do this or that’, I’ll do it and then let you know. I’m not one of those dreamers who says ‘I’m gonna be the next big thing’ with my pipe dreams. Get out and do it. I’m not a dreamer, I’m a doer. I’m doing some good things.”
“The June [UCMMA] card, that’s what I want to push to. That’s what I’m looking for,” he earnestly states. “Absolutely stacked cards that people can’t miss. We’re pushing for two hours on Sky Sports because it’s that good. I’ve got fighters queuing up.
