The date for the "2004 WORLD AMATEUR SAN DA CHAMPIONSHIPS" is set!
To all our friends,
The 2004 World Amateur San Da Championships are set for Saturday, September 4, 2004. As this is Labor Day Weekend in America, a three day holiday, this will afford most guests the opportunity to visit New York City and other places. We are currently working on the travel and tourism aspect of our tournament. The venue will be RexPlex Sports Complex (www.RexPlex.com) located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA. Chosen for its close proximity to New York City (20 minutes), Atlantic City (90 minutes), Newark Airport (5 minutes) and many additional places of interest, RexPlex Sports Complex has become the venue of choice with over 200,000 square feet of sports and entertainment fun, tournament guests are in for a treat.
An initial mailing was done today (1/19/04) to schools and individuals who requested packages. This initial mailing included flyers, registration forms and basic information regarding the tournament. Soon, we will make available additional information on hotel, travel and tourism. We are working with a travel agent to help put together some tourist package opportunities.
We already have a tremendous response from teams from various countries throughout the world and have begun issuing the Letters of Invitation. Any international fighters from any country who want to compete in our tournaments, should request to be added to our mailing list. We encourage all amateur fighters to take part. To be added to our mailing list, e-mail: tournament@uskba.com

I'm gonna be there, unless there are some unforseen obstacles (like work).
Pretty soon I'm going to have to start back up my pilgrimages to Degobah (Herndon) to consult master Yodah (Khun Kao) on how to use my force to pick up an X-wing (learn how to hurt people with my knees).
WHo is responsible for the muayThai component of this tournament?
Khup,

Vlad Borodin is running the Muay Thai division, he is well known and well respected

the weapon.... We will be hosting individual amateur tournaments in San Da, Muay Thai, Freestyle Sambo, Full Contact Kickboxing and Continuous Contact. These five tournaments will take place on September 4-5, 2004. The venue for the 2004 USKBA ACTION SPORTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS will be RexPlex Sports Complex in Elizabeth NJ, USA. This facility is over 200,000 square feet of sports and entertainment. No matter what the size of the tournaments, RexPlex can handle it. We will be busy working the details to run all five amateur tournaments in two days.
TheAdonis.... Each amateur tournament is different. Muay Thai fighters can compete in Muay Thai. San Da fighters can compete in San Da. Freestyle Sambo fighters can compete in Freestyle Sambo....etc. It is all under our catagory of Action Sports. With our 2004 USKBA ACTION SPORTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, spectators and fighters will be able to view five different Action Sports in one weekend. Just like ice cream shops not offering just one flavor, we believe that each Action Sport has its own niche and we try to offer a variety of 'flavors' to the fans.
DaRealPorkChop.... May the force be with you. Hopefully we'll see you on September 4-5, 2004.
Pisand.... Yes, Vladimir Borodin is the Director of the Muay Thai Tournament. We will be posting information on the San Da, Muay Thai and Freestyle Sambo tournaments on our website this week. We are looking to select our Full Contact Kickboxing and Continuous Contact Tournament Directors. When that is accomplished, we will post that information on our website as well.

thanks
This will be the third year we are hosting an Action Sports Tournament. Each year the Tournament gets bigger and better. Not only because of the terrific and well selected Tournament Coordinators, but also because of the level of competition. We will use this forum and answer any questions anyone might have on our Tournament. The basic idea behind the 2004 USKBA ACTION SPORTS WORLD TOURNAMENT is this... the USKBA hosts and sanctions the individual amateur tournaments; Thaiboxing, San Da, Full Contact Kickboxing, Freestyle Sambo and Continuous Contact. The USKBA is responsible for the entire weekend and each Tournament Coordinator is responsible for their respective amateur tournament. As a result of the response from International Teams for last years' tournaments, this year we decided to call the weekend of tournaments a "WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS". This does not mean that every bout of every tournament is for a World Title. It simply means that we are running an Open Tournament where the world is invited to participate. It looks like we will have some terrific competitors coming in from many countries. We hope to also see many terrific competitors from the United States participate in the 2004 USKBA ACTION SPORTS WORLD TOURNAMENT.On Saturday, September 4th, we will run the San Da and Full Contact Kickboxing and Continuous Contact tournaments. On Sunday, September 5th, we will run the Thaiboxing and Freestyle Sambo tournaments. On Saturday night, we will be running a USKBA ACTION SPORTS SuperShow. This nighttime show will have set matches between some of the best amateur fighters in Thaiboxing, San Da, Full Contact Kickboxing and Freestyle Sambo. One of the Freestyle Sambo bouts will feature Rhadi Ferguson. Rhadi will be competing in the Olympics (Judo) just 2 weeks prior to our Tournament. We hope everyone will help support Rhadi in his quest for Olympic Gold. We'll be featuring more about Rhadi on our website. In addition, some of the matches on the SuperShow will be for Amateur World Championship Titles. We also have many more things planned for this extraordinary weekend. We have arranged a great Tournament Hotel...the Country Inn & Suites near Newark Liberty International Airport and closer to the venue, RexPlex Sports Complex. The beautiful rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people are only $79 a night...healthy breakfast included. Also included are free transfers between the airport and the hotel and the hotel and RexPlex Sports Complex. We will be checking this message board, as well as others, and attempt to reply to all questions or concerns posted. The Official Tournament Website is located at www.uskba.com/2004tournament.htm, or just click on the Tournament banner below.
