Shamrock vs Diaz?

Somehow my brain can't picture those two together in the ring, they're like entirely different generations of MMA. I'd give the edge to Diaz, but I'm not sure how he will handle Shammys speed and power. I hope Diaz subs him, but I doubt he can control Frank well enough. What say you guys?

Sham will beat him, probably not as quick as he dismantled Nicks' mentor Cesar. But he'll do it.

I can't wait for the smack talk to start on this one. It's gonna be a laugh riot, the fight is gonna kick ass too.

 i worry for frank, but nicks had big trouble with guys like mike aina.

Frank Shamrock will make him feel he's run five Ironmans in a row. Frank Shamrock via anything he wants. If I hadnt lost a screen name bet already i'd put it up.

I'm leaning towards Diaz. His ground game is better than Frank and I think he can really get in Franks head.

Frank Shamrock will fight Nick Diaz at Strikeforce’s April 11 event on Showtime.



The bout, which Strikeforce and Showtime announced Tuesday, will be contested at a catch-weight of 179 pounds.



The outspoken Shamrock is coming off a loss to Cung Le in a March 2008 Strikeforce event. His arm was broken by Le’s kicks in the entertaining 15-minute match. Before that defeat, Shamrock choked out Phil Baroni in a June 2007 Strikeforce main event.



Diaz, who is perhaps even more outspoken than Shamrock, has won three straight. Most recently he stopped Thomas Denny in a July 2008 EliteXC bout.



Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker also said Tuesday that Cung Le will not fight on the April 11 show due to an elbow injury. However, Coker expects Le to fight twice for Strikeforce in 2009, and he expects one of those fights to be a rematch with Shamrock.

Wow, this fight is very interesting! Though I would really like to see Diaz win this one, I just don't see how he will be able to handle Shamrock on the feet or the ground and pound. Gotta go with Frank on this one!

that's the beauty of the matchup...no one has any clue what to expect really. Gotta love strikeforce!
