Why in the world would GSP take him down? GSP will keep it standing and punch him a lot. When has Jake ever shown anything at all on the feet? If he can't get GSP down or pull guard he has no shotIMO.

This pretty much sums it up and is exactly how the fight is going to go down. Shields stand up is sub par at best. GSP would have to be an idiot to take him down.

I don't trust what any fighter says before a fight now.



Gsp is going to stand all day long. Jake is hoping Gsp takes him down or he can take Gsp down, if it stays standing Gsp wins, if it goes to floor either with Jake on top or bottom he wins.



I can see either fighter winning this but that also depends on Jake's cardio, his last fight was not impressive and Gsp will push the pace.

This is going to look a lot like the Koscheck fight in my opinion, except I think GSP finishes him standing.

Even if GSP takes him down Shields would have a hell of time preventing GSP from passing his guard, I don't see GSP getting swept unless GSP makes a mistake and goes for a stupid submission that backfires. Other than a guillotine from the guard which I don't see GSP getting caught in, I just can't envision Shields using his guard game effectivelty with a guy like GSP raining down punches. I honestly believe BJ with the right conditioning and training partners would have a better chance against GSP but still ultimately lose.

GSP tried to take koscheck down but josh was able to stuff the takedowns in the rematch. once he realized josh would give him a hard time with his takedown defense; he decided to just out strike him. josh doesn't have the submission's of shields or even close to the grappling level of jake but GSP is confident in his grappling so i bet you'll see him shooting for takedowns.

I don't see this going Shield's way.  GSP, I think, is going to try like hell to finish this fight, just to show himself he can.

GSP is going to beat Shields like a rented mule.

To think that a guy who got the W over Kampmann simply because they can't have two losers in one fight is going to beat the greatest WW in MMA history is laughable at best.
