Shinya Aoki defending title against Kamal Shalorus

Looks like Shinya Aoki is going to defend his ONE FC title against Kamal Shalorus. I see Shalorus taking it.

The report's here:

Shalorus has wrestling and power in his hands. Still think Aoki manages to drag it to the ground and takes it.

Does he get to wear his fancy pants in onefc? Phone Post 3.0

Nope. Phone Post 3.0

I think Kamal catches Aoki with a huge punch and sleeps him.

Nice, I like this match. Totally forgot about Kamal, as I was thinking it would be Folayang or Colossa. Phone Post 3.0

Thank god he's done with Featherweight.

KS is a gentleman and an absolute killer. I'd like to see him put the stamp on A-OOOOooooOOoooOki.

Aoki has been "jobless" for a while, and he often talks about how broke he is on his blog.

He must have time for doing some work, because you don't train 10 hours a day. But his pride seems to prevent him from doing something else besides fighting.

A few years ago in Japan, an Aum Shinrikyo cult member long on the wanted list was caught and reported to have be earning around 400,000 yen ($4,000) a month as a construction worker.

I find it funny that a fugitive was probably wealthier than a decorated fighter.

Aoki should've (probably still can) signed with the UFC. Give him a couple decent wins, he would be a draw in the Asian market, wouldn't have to fight a lot. Phone Post 3.0

I recall him recently saying something like, "I can't compete with these monsters."

The UFC offered him a contract at the end of last year and he declined.

I don't blame him. If he's making decent money in ONE FC to fight lesser competition, why bother?

"I'm happy that any fans from anywhere would watch me fight," Aoki said.

"I'm honored that they are watching but it isn't my goal to appeal to everybody."
