Shogun vs. Machida

Just curious as to how folks think a fight between Machida and Shogun would go?For the sake of this discussion, lets assume that Shogun returns to his previous Pride form (I know thats a big if)for a match against Machida.It seems like this could be an interesting fight from a style perspective since Machida tends to move and counter-strike and Shogun just seems to bum rush opponents with a barrage of strikes.This could be a potential championship fight sometime in the near future....

Thoughts on the match up and who would win?

we saw what happened when machida is bum rushed, he drops his opponents, so I think machida takes this one

I think Shogun would have controlled aggression and his well roundedness would post Machida a lot of problems. The only guys at LHW I see beating Machida or at least giving him a serious run are Shogun and Luiz Cane. Rashad possibly.

I think Machida is a future champ, I don't see him losing anytime soon.

 Shogun would rush in, Machida would step back and pop him with a straight and down Shogun would go.

Cane is a bit over-rated on these boards. the two people that i think would give Machida trouble are Rampage and Rashad. nobody else is even close...

Shogun is a huge x-factor right now

I've actually been wanting to see this fight for a while now

The Pride Shogun would push the action and give Machida fits on the ground IMO

But I have no idea if we'll ever see that Shogun again

I'm most excited about the Coleman fight on this card, just to see whether Shogun is back as one of the best PFP fighters in the world, or if he's done like Crocop
