Should competitors be called 'MMA players'?

We always refer to them as MMA fighters, but these guys aren't really fighters in the purest sense. A competitor in Judo isn't called a fighter, he's usually called a player.

The real fighters are the guys going toe-to-toe with the Taliban in Afghanistan, or fighting in urban terrain in Iraq.

I think its time to stop disrespecting these guys and recognize the distinction.

Trollin' trollin' trollin' ....

.....i voted down, now go watch undisputed, and someone will explain why you don't call it playing mma
