In the case of Arlovski Vs. Shaub, both fighters were reluctant to engage due to the overwhelming power both guys possessed in their hands.
Any poorly calculated movement could have been punished with a knockout power counter. Although AA'a chin looked fantastic, he did eat some big shots, especially the uppercut Brandon landed in the middle of the cage.
We all know that the casual fan only tunes in to see violence, blood, and KOs, but can we for a minute sit back and pay full respect to anyone who steps into the cage or ring? Sometimes, as fans, we have to learn to be patient, they're our prize-fighters, this isn't dog-fighting, or cock fighting (the bbc kind).
Sometimes fights will be visually unappealing to the CASUAL fan but that shouldn't take anything away from the fighters. Consider what's going through their mind before you insult them. Are they hurt? Tired? Psyched-out? Injured?
The fighter are not here to do us a favor, they're competing at the highest level so let them compete. The fact that a FIGHTER... A potential murderer (theoretically, I mean...) has to apologize for their performance is pathetic. They shouldn't have to, we should be more understanding of the stress they deal with. They shouldn't have to worry about appeasing Caesar, they're not gladiators fighting for their freedom.
Just respect them. it'll make sport so much better. Enough with the TMZ crap.
Solid post.
boring fights happen i get over it. i can understand being pissed if you paid 60 bucks though
Boring fights I am sympathetic IF I am a fan. I like Arlovski, so no biggie.
When Anderson did his playing around BS I was pissed off.
Fans being so entitled is the worst thing about this sport.
not if I'm paying for entertainment.
Sorry but according to Tito they are modern day gladiators.
They must therefore be treated as such.
