I’m looking for any advice possible/as many opinions as possible.
A couple years ago I was competing in a BJJ tournament, first match I shoot in on a single leg, guy sprawls and I instantly feel my left shoulder pop out, it was kind of a shocking pain so I sat back into guard and just laid there for a sec, the guy could tell something was off. But I was able to pop it back in quickly and continue. Ended up winning that match on points and lost in the second round by arm bar, had to tap before it was even in because my shoulder was hurting so much from the set up.
Long story short I never got it looked at and let it heal by itself but I could tell something was off.
Ive maintained nearly full mobility and was able to train/lift with no issues since then just occasional random pain.
Well on Sunday I was literally just opening a window and somehow my shoulder popped out again. Not as bad as last time but it happened way too easily and I can tell something is off.
So I got it x rayed today and they said I need an mri, could be a torn labrum and some bone damage.
Im hoping it’s nothing serious because I want to get back to competing/training.
Has as anyone had experience with something similar? What should I be doing to help it heal/prevent further injuries? Any recommendations at all is greatly appreciated guys.
