Shoyoroll sale

mbalz izhairy - You really do need to have God on your side to get one of these gi's. i have the fastest computer in the free world and from 3:00 to 3:01 the Budovideos page was trying to load and by 3:01 when it finally loaded up all the A2's were gonzo.

You can get a Bull Terrier Series M gi in black on Ebay for about the same price. Looks as good or better than the Yang.

budo started selling the gi's 5-10 minutes early so thats why they were sold out so quick.

StrictScrutiny - I heard a rumor that Shoyoroll is thinking of putting out a gi that is available year-round, in unlimited quantities...in addition to still having pre-orders for "special-edition" gi's. If they do this, they are making a mistake and will become just like Lucky or Koral.

How so? Just because they will provide a gi year-round doesn't take away from them. They're giving the people who want one of their gis, a chance to actually own one, despite it not being a "special edition". It's a smart move, and I'm sure people are still going to go crazy over their limited releases. I'm sure they gi that they'll release in unlimited quantities won't have some of the features as the others, such as gold weave gusset, reinforced knee pads, etc etc.

The reason why Shoyoroll is so popular is because of: (1) quality, (2) design/brand image, and (3) exclusivity. Making a gi available year-round would no longer make the brand exclusive, and as you said yourself, it will be of lower quality. We can argue about this all day, but if they do release a gi that's available year-round, watch their sales drop. Don't fix what isn't broken.

the quality isn't that amazing. It's marketing and the limited runs. Their sales won't drop if they release an always available GI because people will still covet the limited runs.

You can have the fastest computer, but it's a server side issue. Budo can't handle that much traffic on their server. Phone Post

ahh gotcha...combine server issues with the 5 min head start and there you go...effed in the can.

Empire - atama gold > syr

I love the Atama gold too but it is a bit thick. Kinda comparing apples to oranges. They are very different. Phone Post

Why would Budo say the sale starts at 3pm , then actually start it at 2:50? Do they like pissing customers off?

If only people knew who actually made SYR, you would all laugh. You could order from that company, get the same product for less, and pretty much have a reliable source. Americans love the limited edition line though.

I got to my comp at 250pm and kept on refreshing every now and then (cause I'm paranoid) and got mine with no problems at 2:53pm. Phone Post

yeah, that was kinda my point Ray..Ya see I am on the East coast and 2:53 is still before 3:00.

BJJkilla - 175 for a plain white gi, 185 for just a black gi? lol this is the weakest batch they've come out with yet it seems people are brain washed into thinking this is great.

agreed!

who knows, i doubt they'll give a reason because i honestly don't think they care for the people who got screwed.

Do you guys think that today's "computer malfunction" will cause Shoyoroll to lose customers? Or do all the people missing out on Batch #9 only increase the demand for Shoyoroll?

I think I managed to snag a white one. O have an order number and the money was pending in my acct but did not see a size so I'll feel better when I have it in hand. I have the Compadre on order too but really want the Golden State but no way I want to pay ebay price for it.

The thing about SYR is they live the sport. You are going to pay just as much for any of the other top of the lines GIs so I don't think price is an issue. I much rather support someone living the lifestyle than just trying to make money off some Gis.

I may have to scout around to see if I can trade to get the Golden State. I like the idea of the Gi trimmed out in my belt color.

Shoyoroll, definately "not mainstream at all."

LOL

Really? The Gi's cost $30 to make. You don't htink SYR is laughing all the way to the bank by having people send them $180 each to pay for Gi's they won't even pay for themselves and then taking 3 months to send to people?

LOL @ you.

Shoyoroll- Doing Gods work, for the people. For only a 500% profit margin.

shoyo=smart marketing. Budo or anyone else who doesn't keep their promises should be boycotted.

LOL @ Me becasue I am buying something I want? That's a good one.
How much extra do you think is added to about everything you buy?

I didn't go to business school or anything but the worth of something is only as much as someone is willing to pay. They sold out in 30min and my guess is would be more like 10 to 15 min if the sales software was working up to par. So in a smart "me me me" business model you would raise the price of your next batch which is something they have yet to do.

And you are right they are not Mainstream even the logo says "Rebels against the Mainstream"

I could find a $60 gi and roll in it every day the same way I can sport a pair of "BoBos" to the gym. Cost is nopt the only factor in buying gear.

Oh, so you are head of their finance department, with this type of knowledge? 500% profit margin!?

Shoyoroll is about as "Rebel against the Mainstream" as Tapout.

Maybe you need an Affliction Gi next. ;)

Affliction is over priced. Also isn't it owned by Trump in some way?

SYR is owned by BJJ guys. I would rather see fellow BJJ guys getting my money IMO.
