Shutting a Cut

Okay, so I come up after a wipeout and my SUP board slingshots into my face. Felt like somebody false crack me. Didn't think anything of it, got back up and started paddling out. Saw lots of blood dripping on board and checked for damage. Found a split open wound over eye right on the orbital bone. Went in , washed up, and took a look in the mirror and I looked like what happens in the cage. I'm not a fighter, so this is new to me. The cut was about a 3/4" long and opened about a 1/4" wide. Did not want to go through the hassle of sitting to get stitches in the ER and all that. Decided to just go get butterfly bandage strips.
Drug store only had big ones, no tiny ones. I got some liquid bandage(New Skin) went home, cleaned wound, pinched wound shut and applied liquid bandage to hold it together.

Is this okay? How long should I do this? What do they normally do for cuts like tis?

scarface? keep it outta the sun.

Oh brutha, prolly should've got stitches if it was at all deep. Would heal a heck of a lot faster to get you back in the game that much quicker. If this just happened i'd go see if it might still be an option.

Cut my finger open one time doing something stupid, bandaged it the same way you did, took weeks to heal instead of maybe one week with stitches.

Thanks, I'll go get it checked out by my shool's nurse.
