We keep hearing Anderson and Jones would be fighting. Fuck that. Jone would get decimated and to what end?
Now If Sonnen destroyed Jones (and he would do so with ease) it limit the number of future "super fights" that Anderson would have left, cement his reputation, humble an arrogant fighter and force a rematch much soon - AND set him up to be a dual belt holder if, and only if, he could beat Anderson.
Could you imagine the trash talk between Sonnen and Jones. Jones would not be able to keep his composure (facade). We'd finally see the real person come out, and I think he'd fall apart in and outside of the ring. I bet money Chael would break out the borderline racist comments, mention that Jon's girlfriend is white, bring up the Rashad thing and it would terribly ugly. THIS. I think Chael would effectively SHUT DOWN Jon's ground game. I think he'd stuff all his take downs. I think he'd make the fence incredibly uncomfortable. And on an interesting note, I think he'd be a proper prime for Anderson's submission game. If he can survive the strong and progressive submission attempts that Jon usually tries if he does end up on the ground, then he can survive Anderson (hypothetically) or at best, get his confidence up again.
I think he would thoroughly embarrass Jon. THOROUGHLY. Even if he lost, he's rattle Jon so much, he'd be back to square one. Kind of like when Mike Brown beat Faber cough and it changed his fighting style for the worst cough.
