Silva and GSP

Starting to annoy me on how many people think the size difference is too big. Really?? Ok, GSP is fighting Condit next, why isn't there anyone saying "Condit is too big"?? Condit is the same size as Silva. They are both 6'2 , the only thing is the weight, and Anderson would be meeting Georges at a catch wieght. So tell me again why are people saying anderson is too big but carlos isn't? And dont say because Silva is a middleweight and Condit isn't. Condit could easily make middleweight.

Just to help TS reapproach his logic...

Tank Abbott, 6'0

Nick Diaz, 6'0

It's been said before, but I agree with you 100 % Phone Post

Diaz would smoke the tank though....then maybe fight him. Phone Post

Did you not read my post? Im guessing you didnt. I said the only thing is the weight, and they would be meeting at a catch weight.. Dickhead.

  Cody McKenzie, 6'0

Three fighters at 6'0, all in completely different weight classes. McKenzie and Diaz could probably make the same weight, though.

The point I'm trying to make is that fighting a 6'2 Carlos Condit isn't the same as fighting a 6'2 Anderson Silva.

If your talking about the size difference being the weight, it wouldn't matter too much anyway if they were meeting at a catchweight.

Of course its not, Andy has more weight and a slightly bigger frame than Condit. My point is people are freaking out on here saying andy is waaaaaaay to big when he really isn't. Its ridiculous, really.

please make it stop

I didnt edit anything guy. Its been the same since I posted it, stop trolling, troll.

Even people of the same height carry weight a lot differently. Some a lot more comfortably than others.

I am not saying that the difference between Silva and GSP is huge, but Silva looks less bulky at 185 than GSP does at 170. For a catchweight, GSP would have to bulk up more and Silva would be even leaner.

I agree that saying the weight difference is so dramatic that it wouldn't be a fair fight. But to say the the size difference isn't a factor that should be considered is just as dumb.

I agree, it is dumb to think that size shouldn't be considered as a factor. But at the same time, most fights even in the same division these days, one guy is always bigger than the other. So should it really be singled out for this potential super fight?

Ok, we are on the same page now. Lol.

I really don't think it should be singled out, no. I also don't think that people should expect GSP to be comfortable with taking on the assignment, either. The truth is there is a natural risk involved just due to size, and even though that doesn't make or break the possibilities of it being a good fair right, GSP doesn't deserve to be criticized if he chooses not to take the fight.

Size is more than just height. Add in reach, fighting weight thickness/tone

Yea, I def agree. Goerges shouldn't be criticized if he doesn't want to take the fight. Although, I really think Georges DOES want the fight with Andy, just doesn't want to look past Condit, which is a smart move. Even though I have Georges winning this fight most likely, im also nervous for this fight, Condit is far far from a slouch and really shouldn't be over looked.

I hear ya, but check it out. Andy has one inch reach over George, one. I will agree though and say Andy does have a slightly bigger frame. But like I said earlier, every fight in each division has one guy matched up against a bigger guy, look frankie and gray. My point is, size shouldn't be singled out for this potential super fight when its not singled out in any other fight.

How does silva use the extra weight he has on gsp? by pushing for a take down? with aggressive wrestling? clinching him against the fence?
