Silva vs Irvin...wtf?

Irvin gets a title shot??

Damn NHB where u been?

They both are dropping 170 and the winner fights BJ Penn.

Last I heard Silva was thinking about 205, I thought Irvin was dropping down to fight him at 85. I got the beer goggles on tonite.. =0

You're supposed to be the father of NHB and you didn't know this? I demand a blood test.

LOL

I must of been out of the room when BLAF was talking about it

well, fuck, I dont know where I been then...lol
thanks for the update

lol, no problem. A general rule of thumb to follow in my experience NHB, is to Read InsideFighting.com every day. You simply won't ever fall behind on boxing or mma if you do that :)

 High fives DA

Ha! I'll do that. You guys do a great job over there

Its like BJ moving up to 170 again and fighting Marcus Davis. Complete waste of time.

Irvin was hinting at moving to 185 after he beat Houston, would he have got Silva in his first fight down there?

Does anyone else think this is a ridiculous mismatch? Dan H has competed very successfully at 205 and I believe he would destroy Irvin. Franklin to some degree too, I have hard time believing Rich would have much of a problem. Silva shouldn't have any problem either.

Admittedly, Henderson is probably a tougher fight for Irvin than Silva just given the styles, but I can't see this fight going well for Irvin. Only way is if he lands something big and wins on one big strike. We've seen he's capable of that. But if it's competed more gradually Silva will dominate.

I dont think they want him to lose his first fight at 205, Im not sure why everyone is suprised he's not fighting a top 10 fighter. another upset is always possible.

Sativa armbar - Its like BJ moving up to 170 again and fighting Marcus Davis. Complete waste of time.

It's Silva testing the waters.....if he wins they're going to setup a Silva/Liddell fight which would be HUGE!

If he loses he just goes back to 185 and keeps whoopin' ass.   Plus they wanted something noteworthy they could put together quick to go up against the Affliction card

Silva vs fedor @ 205 in the UFC. could you imagine that

what exactly did irvin do to piss off joe silva? he is gonna take a beating of biblical proportion
