Smash burger Blackstone or fat burger charcoal?

Which do you prefer?   I cant decide on a best.  I THINK the fat burger over charcoal is best.  And 70% pork 30% deer is the tops!!!   But fatty beef isn't bad

Smashburger by far. Fat burgers are obsolete imo. Maybe with venison... but other than that, no.

Blackstones don't get quite hot enough for smashburgers, a cast iron skillet on a gas range is better.

A double smashburger has so much more char and flavor than a traditional burger.

My next "forever " house will definitely have gas appliances

Oklahoma onion burger on a flat top is the best, gotta say thanks to the OGer who turned me on to those. Smashburgers are good, but sometimes I get the griddle so hot I burn them

Smash is only better in that the method does all the heavy lifting, so it’s idiot proof. Personally, I already know how to cook, so don’t feel the need to watch most of the flavor render out to the drippings can.

Can’t speak to Blackstone as I’ve never used one. Already have a teppan & a large cast iron.

You can't juicy lucy a smash burger, fatburger 4 life.

Damn Smiff!!!!!  Excellent

Smash burger is only one around me now.  I used to enjoy fat burgers when I lived in San Antonio.  Both are really good

^OP’s talking method, not brand.

Mesquite grilled on indirect. Smash is great too but a juicy thick burger is nice sometimes.

There is no wrong choice here. Both are delicious.

Totally agree. I like having the option of doing different kinds. I am really loving the blackstone and smash burgers recently. I've done stuffed burgers I ground myself then sousvide and flame thrower finish to grill to blackstone. I will not be limited to 1 kind of burger dammit!

Festus, do you have a blackstone?

are those sesame seed brioche buns?

Smashburgers are idiot proof. Most ppl dry out their grilled burgers. When cooked proper they're tasty as hell.
