Condit comes to fight and gives lawler a very good round or two, but eventually succumbs to a clean 1-2 combo ala Rory, and the fight is justly called off. Both fighters agree and shake hands.
Johnny Hendricks spends a portion of his camp watching woodley vs. jake shields and employs the same boring, yet super effective strategy that shields used to defeat Tyron known as "wall and stall" but because hendricks is bigger, stronger, and a better technical wrestler than shields, he ends up using lay and prey for 9 minutes of rounds 1 and 2 or 9 minutes of rounds 2 and 3. If Hendricks is on and woodley is "off" the fight is a duplicate of Johnny Hendricks vs. Matt brown and Hendricks wins (30-27), takes no damage and is given the fight he already deserves against lawler/condit winner.
This works great for the welterweight top 5.
Rory macdonald finally gets that subtle rematch he has been reaching at for years against condit. With both men coming off losses to champion Robbie lawler (assuming condit loses and doesn't embarrass himself, and since Rory was up 3-1 on all three score cards, a rematch here would sell huge in Canada, have clear cut title implications, and would,be w nice way of Dana saying thank you for,the,lawler,fight,after he previously gave Rory this rematch against condit only to have it abruptly cancelled)
Woodley is a gatekeeper that will lose 29-28 on his best day and hendrick's worse. Not really a fan of either, but a Jon,Fitch like knockout against woodley's annoying ass makes hendricks/Lawler III super lucrative and not just an awesome main event, but the type of co-main event that brings 800,000 ppv sales to 1.1 million if the fight is in Vegas and not some whack time zone.
Call me odd, but with the top 5 handled, I would like to see dong hyun Kim fight Maia in a 5 round title eliminator; fresh {marketable,asian] blood so to,speak.... Winner (stun gun IMO) gets a shot at Robbie if he beats Hendricks which is far from a guarentee, and it all goes down in Asia. IMO, lawyer may not finish Hendricks in a rubber match, but he will have atleast two 49-46's. He took his weak cardio and made it superb while Hendricks added more oxygen craving muscle and took a break in the Matt brown fight by spending 15 minutes in his guard. Other than nick Diaz, I don't see anyone winning 3 rounds of striking against lawler nor do I think Maia is a good enough wrestler to take the fight to the mat. What I do see: gsp wins 50-45 unless he is dumb enough to try and feel how hard lawler punches, after 2 rounds and an iron chin, jake shields finds a way to spend 12 of the last 15 minutes in Robbie's guard unless he gets restless and jake finds his neck again, Dana whites worse nightmare,- Ben askren.grabs a single or an ankle or a trip and spends.25 minutes,not fighting, but moving just enough to not have the ref interfere. But the aforementioned don't work for the UFC - who,does,and how could they,beat,Robbie. Best choice - hector,Lombard lands a haymaker, but he is suspended .... Second best - the star the,UFC refuses to let blossom. Dong hyun Kim. 3 losses. One was a freak injury,against,Maia which,is,Why I want a rematch so,bad, condits legit flying knee, and Woodley KO'd when he forgot he is a jake shields and not a Edson barboza.
Stun gun vs Robbie.
He may have just what it,takes to,defeat Robbie.he is slightly larger, longer reach with much,better judo/takedowns/submissions. If stun gun takes you down in the center of the cage you do not get to your feet unless he attempts a submission; something he was never known to do 6-8 fights ago. He has a good chin, great takedown skills, great sub skills, and a tank meant for 16 minutes. Call me delusional, but with the right coaching, and if Kim turns this into an mma contest instead of a "fight" I honestly feel he can win the first 3 rounds on atleast 2 cards. Yes, the next 2 minutes will be hell, but if he walls and stalls, gets lucky on a trip or two, he just may pull off the miracle. Hell, shields submitted lawler and, to me, dong Kim is shields with judo subs, Greco wrestling, better striking, and more athleticism while shields is American wrestling, ju jitsu Subs, less athletism and way more endurance. Hell ...I wanna see shields vs. Kim ??

I think rematches should be a minimum 1.5 years and a trilogy should take at least 3 years.
