We joke about it but is it because the new owners of the UFC are truly the new owners of the UG and they simply don't view this place as a priority?
The other place, despite being maligned, has insane traffic even after their "disastrous" redesign.

It's changed a lot here. Many Posts used to go on for days and now they are lucky to last a few hours. Ppl are not as engaged with each other just spouting off whatever comes to mind then moving on to next topic.
When mma.tv stopped being mixedmartialarts.com and started being a 2nd rate worldstar my heart broke a little.
I wasn't a fan of the facelift the main page got either.
I, too, noticed a lot less activity on this forum over the last year.

The site barely works and the blog is so bad it seems like it is written by a 9 year old for starters.
The proof is in the pudding, I suppose. Sherdog and MMAFighting do A LOT more to get hits. They provide a ton of original content compared to the UG which simply reprints other website's stories hours after those sites have drawn the attention for their own original work.
I'll always be loyal to the forums but, other than that, there isn't anything here worth stopping by for from an mma fans perspective.

It's the crazy spyware or whatever invasive ads they've implemented. The site is always either redirecting my browser or making things so slow it crashes.
Speaking as a mostly OG poster, the election pretty much destroyed the atmosphere of the place. I've been reading these forums since 2001 (came on because of Tito-Elvis), seen the various waves of new/younger posters change things each time, but over the past year I've felt less and less interested.
It seems like this place is mostly a circle jerk for teenage McGregor fans anymore(and weird grown men, constantly packing up like a bunch of women to nit pick everything Cyborg does). It's a strange bunch anymore.
The instant gratification, social media generation are staying away since they can no longer validate their self worth without the green arrows.
I know I'm alone here, but I used the VU/VD function for feedback. I may spend five hours to animate a gif, and as a response I got a few VUs.
Not that it mattered much, but it showed someone cared about the effort spent.
I haven't romoed or gifed once since they did away with that.
Since the update I come on less for sure, don't know why just does not feel the same anymore.
