So M-1 throws a can at Fedor

and everyone claims they are going to be the premiere? With all the cash I keep hearing about you would think they could afford Barnett thus have a much more appealing Fedor match up. If the UFC threw Fedor against someone like this their would be an uproar about how they put shitty match ups together blah blah blah. I am disappointed that with all the HW talent out their that M-1 couldn't find a better opponent

I'd watch Fedor vs. Choi and I would watch Randy vs. Choi too.

oh Ill watch it, I am just disappointed the matchup is not better

This isn't an M-1 card. The Japanese wanted Choi for ratings, M-1 is just loaning Fedor to them for a price.

This is because of the Japanese politics involved.

It HAD to be someone from K-1. And you know how the Japanese love these freak show like match-ups.

It also doesn't hurt M-1 that Fedor is going to win this handidly, probably not getting hurt to jeopordize his M-1 debut in the States in Feb.

I'll still watch, but I wish it had been Sergei Kharitonov.

You know who would have been better? Mir.

Agreed, Fedor does have to understand that patience is wearing thin amongst fight fans.

Choi is a legit striker who is far from "freak show"-like.

Sure, there is a terrible disparity in MMA experience, but he's not what I would classify as a "can".

Brock Lesnar, the man many picked to destroy him, is much more of a "can" than Choi himself is. However curious it is, though, if Lesnar was booked by M-1 to fight Fedor we'd be hearing about how this is the showdown to end all showdowns and will surely result in the fall of Fedor.

shrugs

This match would be less disappointing if Fedor had already had some solid HW fights recently. Because he hasn't for so very long it's just a shame this is what they came up with.

Get used to crap fights like this. lol at the losers who were so happy when Fedor didn't sign with the UFC.

apparently this event is being held with the support of K1 and they required that he fight a K1 heavyweight. It's disappointing. I really want to see Fedor vs. Barnett moreso than couture. Here's to hoping that it takes place in 2008.

My feeling is they won't let Barnett fight Fedor until 2009 at the earliest. They have to pin the entire promotion on Fedor until they feel they are established enough to compete for American PPV dollars. 2009 might even be being optimistic.

Hopefully they can coax Gary Goodridge to do another MMA match or two.

That dude brings it harder than just about anybody, and never puts on a boring fight.

Get two guys like Goodridge and Buentello together, and I'd watch that anytime over most other "A-level" HW's who are afraid to open up even the slightest bit to take some risks.

Yeah, because having your organization get bought out, negotiations and starting with a new organization really doesn't take much time.

Well he fought after the buyout, and he fought a guy two weight classes below. So I don't see your point.

Fedor will lose. The myth will be broken.

He's a can because he doesn't train submission/MMA.

He's dangerous because he's very big and has kickboxing skills.

If Fedor is as good as we all think he shouldn't have much trouble with him.
