So Ronda......

So Ronda said she would fight Carano at a catch weight, but not Cyborg? Shes already at the point where she's picking opponents? Phone Post 3.0

At the presser Dana said he wasn't going to do the fight at a catchweight, so cool your jets.

Ronda obviously has a lot more respect for Gina than Cyborg, hence the desire to compete against her. Gina is one of the biggest reasons Ronda got into the sport. Gina is a lot more worthy of respect considering she doesn't have a drug test failure in her past.

Ronda sees Cyborg as a cheater and detriment to the sport, so why should she accommodate her?

Very good point. If she's willing to fight Carano at a catch weight, then there's no valid reason (aside from cowardice) that she shouldn't be willing to fight cyborg under the same terms.

Seems like she thinks Carano would be an easy fight (regardless of weight) which is why she is willing to do it at a catchweight. While she considers Cyborg to be a threat, so she holds a stubborn stance of not being open to do the fight at any weight other than 135lbs. Phone Post

History lesson...

Ronda said she was moving down to 135 before she even fought Julia Budd.

Source: http://www.mmaweekly.com/ronda-rousey-out-to-make-a-statement

“I’m planning on, win or lose, dropping down and win the 135-pound belt first before I go after the 145-pound title,” said Rousey. “I definitely want to win both belts and be the undisputed best woman fighter in the world in MMA."

“A fight with Cris Cyborg would be the most important of my career, and I want to treat it like the Olympic Games and be entirely peaked when that time comes. The 145-pound division doesn’t really have that many women signed in Strikeforce, so I’d be better off moving down and going for the 135 title. And once me and Cyborg finally fight it would be two titleholders against each other and the fight itself would even be a bigger deal.”

The truth regarding Rousey’s move to 135lbs is that there was not, nor is there still any depth for the women’s 145lb division. The promoters in Strikeforce could see that the 135lb division was coming together and that is where the future was at and they asked her to drop down.

Cris Cyborg also said that the promoters approached her about a drop to 135lbs, and this was prior to her fight with Yamanaka in December of 2011 and the drug test failure that followed.

“They're thinking about one division only," Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos told Tatame.com. "They asked me if I could do it. I can try. It's not impossible."

However, as a result of her drug test failure, it basically accelerated the plans of the promoters regarding the 145lb division. The champion had been stripped of her title and suspended for a year, rendering the already struggling division obsolete and it was dropped by the promotion. With her losing the title, the opportunity of a Champion vs Champion match was gone.

Following that, the assumption, even with the promoter is that when Cyborg came back it would be for a fight with Rousey at 135lbs.

"Scott Coker thinks a match between Rousey and Cyborg is "...inevitable. I think that fight will happen at some point...That conversation will happen once she's back and ready to fight. Her and Ronda at 135? That might be the highest rated show on Showtime for the year or the past fights we've done...Women's fights always rate well on Showtime...Ronda's always delivered. That armbar is unbelievable. She proved with Miesha, she's proven with the other girls--she can fight a wrestler, she can fight a striker. Fighting Cyborg? That's a whole 'nother level. I think that Sean is trying to put that fight together."

Cyborg even made a tweet that suggested as much:

But all of a sudden, as the Kaufman fight got closer, Cyborg now says it is impossible for her to make 135lbs.

"Cris Cyborg wants to fight Ronda Rousey. The Brazilian said so much on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour, but the desire comes with a catch. Cyborg has never fought lower than 145 pounds, and she says it would be impossible to meet Rousey at 135 pounds, the division that Rousey currently reigns over."

Even then, the UFC was pretty much all set to make Cyborg vs Rousey at UFC 157 at 135lbs, but it was again Cyborg who pulled out, because of money this time.

Looks to me like Cyborg is the one who has been avoiding the fight.

That is by far the most interesting fight in WMMA. I would pick Rousey over Cyborg at 145 lbs but that's really the only fight for either of them where the result isn't pretty much a foregone conclusion IMO.

How about this. Maybe neither one is ducking and both are Willing to fight but neither one wants to give the other an advantage so they've been playing this game of chicken seeing who will blink first.

Or is that too crazy? Phone Post 3.0

Thank you friend great post. Now hopefully all these whiners will shut up about Ronda ducking Cyborg. I don't get why anyone is even in support of a known cheater. Cyborg doesn't even deserve the Rousey fight... Phone Post 3.0
