Because it seems they switched to boxing judges.
Blind motherfucking idiots.
well there wasnt really any grappling. just holly failing to get takedowns in th clinch. thats control for germain...
ranier wolfcastle -If your back is against the cage and you cant get off the cage id say the other person is controlling you regardless if they're failing at takedowns .

The commission appoints the judges right? I didn't see who they were but I honestly wonder if this is their 2nd overall MMA event they've judged since MMA hasn't been around in NYC for very long.

one strategy for stopping being taken down is to have your own back against the cage, it holds u up
ranier wolfcastle -Yeah but shes not in control. If holly is still able to attempt takedowns and she couldn't get off the cage and back to the centre shes not in control. She was whinging to the ref coz she couldnt get off the cage which is no different to a fighter on their back whinging for a stand up coz they cant get up. If you cant get up or off the cage you arent in control therefore youre losing in that position regardless if the other person cant do exactly what they want.Snakey89 -ranier wolfcastle -If your back is against the cage and you cant get off the cage id say the other person is controlling you regardless if they're failing at takedowns .

how is failing constant takedowns "in control" at best its a stalemate becaue neither combatant has any offensive output able to cause damage OR defensive output that puts them in a better position. who wins the clinch during a long failed takedown attempt? whoever knees the other person in the legs the most.
I think some judges view it as stalling when your just trying to hold someone against the cage.
AnotherDecision -How is lay n pray control? Im not saying that it's not ineffective but youre still controlling where the fight takes place. GDR would have loved to be off the cage but she couldnt get off the cage...so she isn't in control is she ? And Id call a stalemate where neither of them can push each other to the cage and have to break. But if youre constantly being pushed to the cage you arent controlling that situation otherwise you wouldnt be there.Snakey89 -ranier wolfcastle -Yeah but shes not in control. Holly wanted to use the cage to take GDR down. She couldn't.
Neither were in control. It was a stalemate.
