He was DEFENDING HIMSELF. Had his arms over his head, while totally completely conscious. That is not grounds to stop a fight. If you think that was a proper stoppage you're the one who knows nothing about fighting*
*It's not even knowledge about fighting, it's knowledge about proper MMA refereeing. Having watched every UFC since UFC 1, I know what a proper stoppage is, i've seen thousands of them. Some can certainly be borderline early/proper, this was not one of those. It was early.

That said, we knew that. The questions we had going into the fight was (a) can Conor stop the takedowns--he couldn't, and (b) how is ground game-he didn't have anything in guard, not even any set ups.
What this means against Aldo? I'm not sure. I know I wouldn't want to trade with Conor.
And how good is Connor's chin!? Those shots Chad landed would've put away most featherweights.
