Soares: Silva can beat Jon Jones

Always thought Jones would annihilate Anderson.

But after watching Gus Jones I think differently.

However, that fight could be widely contributed to Gus' reach.

Let's see how Glover does then come back to this lol. Phone Post

Actually both Weidman-Anderson and Gus-Jones shattered aura's of invincibility. For my part, Anderson's was hurt more, as he lost (Jones managed to eke out a victory).

The thought of anyone thinking Anderson would be the favorite against Cain though (or JDS for that matter) seems so unlikely that I suspect Soares is just doing his job and hyping his fighter, I doubt he believes it himself.

SuPeRkEwL ELECTRIC bleu - I don't know why people even interview soares. Of course he's gonna pump up anderson, hes his fucking manager. Thought I do agree Anderson has a good shot at beating Jones, especially after the Gustafsson fight.
Cause Anderson has the same reach, size, and strength Gus has right? Phone Post 3.0

No, it's because Gus proved that Jones is beatable, ya cunt.
Ya if you have the same reach and size of him. Anderson will just get slammed like Chael did. Phone Post 3.0
Huge Anderson fan, but to anyone who knows the sport, this. Phone Post 3.0

Yup and I don't think Jones can take some of those Silva square punches to the face and knees.

That being said Jones is a beast wrestler and will take Andy down right away and rain those elbows. He rag dolled Chael what do u think he will do to silva whose wrestling is his weakness Phone Post 3.0

Apparently, the fact that Gustafsson stuffed his takedowns means that everybody can now (even a guy with suspect TD defense like Silva).

disbeliever - I think Anderson currently has the better skill set over Jones, and experience. I don't think Anderson can overcome Jones physical advantages though, such as youth and reach.

Not sure what you mean by Anderson having the better skill set over Bones, but this is a nightmare match-up for Silva. Anderson's weakness, as the entire MMA world knows, is wrestling. And all are equally aware that Jon is a beast on the ground. I'm afraid that Jones would hurt Silva badly. Even Silva's amazing striking - which represents his only shot at winning - is greatly diminished against Bones due to Jon's size, and especially his reach, which he is an expert at exploiting. Remember also that Jones has a very good chin, or at least it appears so thus far in his career. Very small chance that Spider could win this.

You're underrating silvas takedown defense. Its solid and probably better than Jones' considering gus took him down like 5x.

Anderson has great knowledge about perfect distance and timing. Machida showed you can give Jones a hard shot with a bit of timing. I think Anderson has a solid chance. The deciding factor will be how fresh and young and confident JJ looks against a goat of the sport Phone Post
