solution to butt scooting

force the other guy attack him with ground and pound or take away a point for running away

it's very simple - if you are walking towards the fighter and the other guy runs away from you and refuses to engage then who's fault is it? obviously the guy who is running away

same logic should apply when you are buttscooting

That would create problems with no one going for takedowns and people then but scooting to stall. Phone Post

the fuck are you blabbering about?

the only reason to buttscoot is if you can't get the takedown and top position so it's the next best option

you are my son

But many times especially near the beginning, Werdum was on his butt going TOWARDS Overeem and Overeem was backing away. That's all Overeems fault there and he was clearly the one not wanting to fight. Later on with Werdum laying down and asking for him to come get him, it's a bit of a different story.

well what is he suppose to do? free up the rules to allow more strikes to a guy whos only offense is to sit on his butt.

I'm talking about earlier in the fight with Werdum on his butt sitting up and coming at Overeem, he even did a front somersault at him and Overeem literally turned his back and walked away. That's not fighting is it?

This is MMA, and thousands of fights have been won or hit sweeps from people on their back like that. Not one strike has ever landed by someone looking the other way walking away from the fight.

Or you can stop crawling around on the ground and stand up and fucking fight instead of being a stalling coward.
may be you can stop running away and fucking fight instead of being a stalling coward when somebody is butt scooting towards you

ps I would like to see what happens when two fighters butt scoot towards one another in the cage would be a real bjj chess match

Troll thread Phone Post

 Reverse Lay n Pray IMO.

Real answer is allowing kicks to a grounded opponent. Phone Post

Even with kicks allowed Overeem was going to turn around and walk away from Werdum.

you can't deny that if you change unified rules to penalize the fighter who is running away from butt scooter then you would see more ACTION

like it or love it but that's a FACT

Imagine a street fight with 2 6'4 250LB dudes where one guy lays down and waves to the other guy to lay in his crotch. Who would you call the pussy? Phone Post

Okay, but comparing MMA to a street fight is ridiculous.

Overated is such an elite striker he couldn't kick a guy on the ground.
Funny, I've seen many mma fights where the guy buttscooting gets his legs kicked and he decides he better get up.

Also, this is MMA not K1.
You want to call yourself the #1 heavyweight?
Then learn to grapple, you big goofball.

OP is trolling right?

I also would like to see sit downs in addition to stand ups

if fighters are stalling on the feet the ref should warn them that he is going to sit them down if there is no action, if they are still not engaging the ref should put them on the ground in a neutral position like scissoring
