solution to butt scooting

Flopping on your ass is just pathetic.

running from somebody who is flopping on his ass is even more pathetic

Well falling over is not fighting so Werdum should be punished for it. He should have been disqualified IMO. It's just embarrasing to have that happening in your event. Makes MMA look really bad.

When you fall over and beg the guy to take himself down that is not fighting, sorry. If you don't possess the skills needed to get a fight to the ground in MMA that is s personal problem. The sport should have to save you from your own shortcomings.

There was nothing wrong with his guard pull attempts. That was smart strategy and a skill. Every time Reem would move into Werdum, he'd drop and Reem would fall in his guard.

Now the sitting to his ass and taking 20 seconds to get up was pretty bad lol

Sitting people down is silly. Especially since you can't sit them down touching each other, just as you can't stand them up into a clinch. If you sit them down in front of each other one guy will just stand up.

Anyway, the fight starts standing up. As a human being, being on two feet is natural and IS a neutral position. Whatever...

Allowing fights to be more like fights (more strikes to a grounded opponent) would sometimes favor one, sometimes favor the other, but it would definitely give fighters more options and make fights more exciting. What about stepping around a guys guard and kicking him in the face? I've seen it lead to KO's. What about kicking the guy in the face when he is sitting with his head up? What about kneeing the guy's head when he's on bottom?

The rules are lame in this respect.

pervert - you can't deny that if you change unified rules to penalize the fighter who is running away from butt scooter then you would see more ACTION

like it or love it but that's a FACT

It's also a fact that if you're a BJJ practitioner, the FIRST thing you should be working on is your wrestling. It is not Overeem's fault that he doesn't want to just walk into the open guard of a BJJ Black Belt. That. Is. Stupid.

The bottom line is, fights start off standing. If you are a BJJ expert, and you buttscoot like the other guy is scared of you, YOU are the one stalling the action. Can't get him to the ground? Tough. MAKE him go to the ground.

Don't try to act like he's a coward for not going to the ground, while you're being a coward for falling down every time you get grazed.

In a land where people seem to HATE wrestlers so much, it's strange to see a lot of the great BJJ players not have the wrestling chops to get the fight where they want it. Bottomline, if your best game is the ground game, you should learn every trick in the book to get it there.

Buttscooting isn't a takedown attempt, it's a desperate mindgame/stall tactic. When's the last time someone buttscooted and taunted, and the other fighter actually crawled into open guard. Not in the longest. You know why? Because that shit is insane.

Overeem walking into Werdum's guard would be like Werdum walking into a striking exchange with Overeem with his hands down. You're just ASKING to get wrecked by the opponent's best strategy. To do that would be dumb. End of story.

Side note, if the OP is trolling, good job. People actually sided with you. If not, well...there's your answer.
